Hi everyone - I’m Andrew and I’m a coach. (And yes, I am restarting this newsletter.) 🙄 🥱 (yawns) Oh great, another coach who read a book about leadership and now wants to tell me how to run my company. Wait. I know. Many coaches don’t run their own business, so they have no business getting their nose into yours. (Looking at you, coaches who’ve never made payroll but have a beautiful slide deck about it!) But I do. I own a commercial cleaning business, so I know the reality: I’ve put my own money in to make payroll, and I’ve had a star employee quit. I feel responsible for my team’s safety, even when I’m not there and I never really switch off, because the business comes with me everywhere. Every piece of advice I give, I’ve either used on my own team or wished I had. 😉 Two more things about me that surprise people: First session is free. Paying someone just to explain myself always felt offensive to me. And I’m month to month. Forcing someone to keep paying for something they don’t want is ridiculous. Nice to re-meet you! THE BEST LEADERS HAVE COACHES. Presidents have advisors. Olympic athletes have coaches. The most successful business leaders often have entire teams of people helping them think, grow, and perform at their best. Great leadership isn't about having all the answers.
